From Shelter Cat to Barn Queen

After 326 Days with us at Humane Society of Blue Ridge, MARIGOLD Finally Found Her Perfect Home

These days, MARIGOLD spends her mornings watching two horses named Stella and Chief.

It's a far cry from the animal shelter she called home for 326 days at the Humane Society of Blue Ridge.

But that's the beautiful thing about adoption.

Sometimes the longest journeys lead to exactly where you're meant to be.

After nearly a year of waiting, MARIGOLD's perfect match came in an unexpected way. Thanks to the dedication of our TNR volunteers, Silvia and Liz, MARIGOLD found exactly what she needed: a peaceful home where she could make herself comfortable in a barn, surrounded by caring people and plenty of room to explore.

Now, instead of the sounds of a busy shelter, MARIGOLD spends her days soaking up the quiet life, keeping an eye on her new horse friends, Stella and Chief, and enjoying all the comforts of home.

At the Humane Society of Blue Ridge, we often say that the right home is worth waiting for.

MARIGOLD reminds us why.

Three hundred twenty-six days may have felt like a long wait, but it was only one chapter in what we hope will be a lifetime of sunny naps, curious adventures and peaceful afternoons in the barn.
