It is with heavy hearts that the Humane Society of Blue Ridge will have to cancel Paws In The Park which was scheduled for October 17th, 2020.
The city of Blue Ridge is following the restrictions imposed by the state to keep people safe from COVID 19. Paws has been held for 13 years and is a fun-filled day of friends and family (furry and non-furry) that having to cancel it due to COVID is a huge disappointment to all.
HSBR realizes that we are not alone. Life with COVID has brought many changes and disappointments to all of our lives. Paws has always been a chance for animal lovers to get together each year to celebrate and pay homage to our furry family members. From the Blessing of the Animals - to the Costume Parade - to the Dock Diving Competition - to just having the chance to join together for a joyous day in one of the parks in beautiful downtown Blue Ridge... there is a lot to lament about not being able to have Paws In The Park this year.
Thank you for being a loyal supporter of HSBR! We are sorry Paws has been canceled; we so look forward to bringing it back next year!
Thank you for your amazing support of this fun, educational and enjoyable Day!
