Diego

Hello,

My sister and I want to thank the Humane Society of Blue Ridge for bringing us Diego. He is our new best friend and we really enjoy walking him around our neighborhood & watching him play in our backyard. He sleeps on the floor next to our beds every night and is always excited to see us when we come home from school.

He is so funny, always happy, and full of love.

Thanks so much,

Reagan & Lindsey

Karu

This is Karu, a beautiful dog that Rob and I fostered. She found her forever home on a farm in Kentucky. She has many animals to play with and a pond to swim in. Below is an updated picture of her with her forever Dad David.

Aamyie Ecker

"She has settled in and Loves Dave, she sleeps in a chair beside his bed.
She gets along with all others really well and we are feeding her extra to get some meat on her bones (not on like the rest of the Gang, Dave and I included)....."

Maxine.

Maxine & Peaches at play

She was just a little pup when she was hit by a car, which broke her two back legs. She had surgery on one and a cast was put on the other. Phil and Mary Marshall (Humane Society of Blue Ridge volunteers) fostered her during her recovery and I must say, they did an excellent job. She plays with my Golden Peaches (who is also still a pup - 18 months - and also has a bad hip) like there's never been a thing wrong with her.

Since my Maggie passed away in May, Peaches has been in a state of depression. She would walk around with one of her babies in her mouth and cry - looking for Maggie I felt that I couldn't just run out and get another dog as it felt as though I was trying to replace her. There is never going to be a replacement for Maggie. However, watching Peaches and Maxine love on and play with each other and see the healing power between them warms my heart and eases the tremendous sense of loss. Peaches has completely transformed and as you will see, Maxine has fit into our little family seamlessly. I will never forget Maggie and having a dog like her just teaches us that we must always have one (or two, or three......) to care for and be cared for by them. These are NOT our animals, but a gift from God. We must take care of them while they are here and once they're gone be ever so grateful that they were a part of our lives.
Thank you all for the great work you do for our furry friends and especially Phil and Mary for giving me the time to decide to take Maxine. I hope this warms your heart as it does mine.

Thanks also to Ocoee Animal Hospital for helping out with the medical costs encountered.
